Application-led procurement
Trailer abs sensor checks for axle programs
Each scenario starts with a documented part requirement, not an assumed universal fit. A trailer abs sensor inquiry should name axle count, ABS module interface and destination before suppliers are asked to quote.
Requirements by buying scenario
- Parts wholesale
- Clarify catalog references, packing units, left/right orientation and reorder expectations. Wholesale lots still need vehicle or trailer application notes; a mixed bin of similar housings is not one interchangeable SKU.
- Workshop distribution
- Clarify installation position, included hardware and the vehicle application range. Workshops should state whether they need a sensor only or a harnessed assembly. Connector pin count and cable routing length belong on the RFQ.
- Fleet purchasing
- Separate tractor and trailer configurations. For a trailer abs sensor or semi trailer abs sensor program, list axle positions, ABS ECU family if known, and planned quantities by application. Do not roll different tone ring tooth counts into one line.
- Special project inquiry
- Document altered interfaces, relocated brackets or mixed new versus remanufactured preferences. Ask the supplier to explain differences before accepting alternatives. Material grade and surface finish are requested only when the supplier claims a coated or sealed housing.
Complete kits versus individual sensors remain a live dispute: a kit BOM must list harness, connector and ring, while an individual part must state exclusions. Sample versus batch is the second dispute: one accepted sample does not certify the next lot without agreed checks.
Continue with the parts range or request quotes.
- Next step
- Share trailer axle notes and open specification questions for a comparable supplier request.
